Quality Assurance Engineer | (f/m/d)
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer specialising in test automation to join our development team. In this role, you will work on quality assurance for our Java-based SaaS solution and develop automated tests that help us deliver new features reliably and identify regressions at an early stage.
The focus is on automated system, integration and regression testing, carried out in close collaboration with software development and DevOps.
Your tasks:
- Development, expansion and maintenance of automated tests for our Java-based SaaS platform
- Development and maintenance of system tests without external dependencies, to ensure that key product functions are stable and reproducible
- Automation of integration tests involving external dependencies, whereby these are recorded or simulated to ensure deterministic test behaviour
- Expansion of our regression test suite to ensure that existing functionality is reliably verified in new releases
- Quality assurance of newly developed features in collaboration with the developers responsible
- Analysis of failed tests, identification of root causes, and close coordination with development and DevOps
- Contributing to test strategies, test data concepts and the further development of our QA processes, including the effective use of AI tools
- Support in the further development of our CI/CD and test automation infrastructure
Your profile:
- Experience in the automated testing of backend, web or SaaS systems
- A good knowledge of Java or a similar programming language, as well as a technical understanding of APIs, data flows, services and interdependencies between systems
- An understanding of automated system, integration and regression testing, as well as experience with testing frameworks, build pipelines or CI/CD environments
- A systematic approach to identifying the root causes of issues, as well as a willingness to work closely with developers, DevOps teams and product managers.
- A very good understanding that quality assurance is a comprehensive process that goes beyond mere automation
- Ability to work in a team, willingness to develop, sense of responsibility and reliability.
It’s a plus if you have:
- Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, TestContainers, RestAssured or similar tools
- Experience with contract testing, mocking, stubbing or recording external services
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or cloud-based SaaS architectures
- Experience with CI/CD systems, such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar tools
- Experience with AI tools and their practical application in supporting QA, test automation or development processes
- Experience with monitoring, logging or fault analysis in distributed systems
- A place of residence in Vienna or the surrounding area
